Our latest collaboration with artist Christina Gurahoo

We are so excited to collaborate with artist Christina Gurahoo of Muthu, for the packaging of Collection Vol 2. Each PUVItie will come with a limited edition postcard exclusively designed for the collection inspired by the ocean.

Christina Gurahoo is a self-taught watercolor artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, NYC. She was born in Caroni, Trinidad and immigrated to America with her family in the ‘90s from Guyana. As a child, Christina studied art in school through traditional drawing classes, manipulating soft pastels and acrylic painting. While working as a history teacher in Connecticut and NYC, Christina experimented with stop motion animation, collage, scrapbooking, and various artistic expressions and techniques.

The name Muthu (Moo-Too) is derived from her matriarchal ancestors, translating to ‘pearl’- each with their unique identity and origins. Her colorful work celebrates the power, beauty and courage of women in her life and are reflections of multifaceted representations of femininity throughout history. The cool, collected expressions of the subjects in her compositions demand the attention of the viewer, finding a moment of peace, empowerment, joy and tranquility. Check out Gurahoo’s original work here.
